  • Levant : Between -8500 and -8000, the new village societies of farmers immigrating from the area with nuclear techniques, settled on the Mediterranean coast ( Ras Shamra ), along the Euphrates ( Bouqas ) and rural arid El Kowm or Palmyra. In both cases, the environment was not conducive to a spontaneous birth of agriculture, but more humid Mediterranean environment could easily accommodate domesticated plants, while the arid environment did not offer the same opportunities. Agriculture loses importance in favor of hunting.

  • In Sahara , first use of tools microlithic (around 8500 BC.). Mounted on a handle of bone or wood, they provide sickles to harvest the wild grasses. Others are set as points and barbs on arrows and spears, sometimes covered with sealant produced by the mastic.
  • Debut of Saharan rock art with representation of wild animals and domesticated animals (around 8500 BC.).
  • In Peru , the first crop of various herbs, beans, peppers and citrus (around 8500 BC.).
