Claude Hagege, born on 1January 1936 in Carthage ( Tunisia ), is a linguist French.

Born into a family tradition of both Jewish and Christian, he attended high school at the Lycee Carnot in Tunis. Bachelor in 1953 he continued his studies in Paris at the Lycee Louis-le-Grand in literature classes upper and upper primary (1953-1955), then at the Ecole Normale Superieure (1955-1959), the University of Paris (Bachelor of Classics in 1956, BA in Arabic in 1956, graduate degree in Arabic in 1957, license of general linguistics in 1965, BA in Chinese in 1969), the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes and the National School of Oriental languages (Hebrew diploma in 1964, graduated from China in 1967, Diploma in Russian in 1970).

Appointed Associate Professor of Classics in 1958, he taught at the Lyce Carnot in Tunis (1959-1961), did his military service (1961-1963) and is then assigned to schools Duruy Victor and Saint-Louis in Paris (1963-1965).
