The term dependency of the Crown (Crown dependency in English) means the territories which are possession of the British Crown without being attached to the UK (and therefore the European Union ) instead of the British Overseas. This is the case:
- the Isle of Man in the Irish Sea and
- the Channel Islands located in the Channel off the Cotentin consist of:
