Besides the basics in English and Hawaiian, there are also, in the vocabulary of Hawaiian Creole, some occasional contributions from Portuguese , of Cantonese , the Japanese , in various languages of the Archipelago Filipino ( Tagalog , Ilocano , Cebuano , Hiligaynon ) of Korean , of Spanish and Samoan , all these contributions are related to the presence of labor from non-Hawaiian plantations in the islands.

Distribution

Well as English and Hawaiian are both equally official languages of the State of Hawaii, Hawaiian Creole is often used by natives or by mere "residents" in everyday conversation.

Hawaiian Creole is known about 600,000 people and commonly practiced by about 100 000-200 000 people.

Its range extends throughout the Hawaiian Islands, with extensions on the west coast of the United States ( California in particular) and in the cities of Las Vegas ( Nevada ) and Orlando ( Florida ).
