Jurby is an island and parish administrative sheading of Michael on the Isle of Man. With a small population, the parish is home to an airfield of the Royal Air Force and since 2008 the prison in which convicts are held on the island.
Summary |
The airfield was used during the Second World War as a training base for the Royal Air Force. It is now intended for trade and industrial training of pilots Prison The prison has 138 cells and replaced the old prison in Douglas , Victoria Road, which became too small due to the increased number of inmates. In the late 1980's , it appears that it is time to release funds to invest in a new prison structure. 41.7 million pounds allow delivery of a new set in the vast plain north of the island . The government's desire is to create a prison that ensures the health of its inmates and provides sports and educational resources for reintegration easier . Notes
