Michel Rouche

Michel Rouche, born in Paris on 30 May 1934 , is a historian French , Professor Emeritus of universities, specialist in the history of Gaul from the Roman Empire and Middle Ages. He is married and father of four children.

Biography

Received the aggregation of history in 1959 , he became Doctor of Letters in 1976. He taught at the University Charles de Gaulle - Lille III from 1969 to 1989 , then at the University of Paris IV - Sorbonne , as a university professor. He was a lecturer at the Catholic Institute of Paris. His research focuses on the end of the ancient kingdoms and the establishment of "barbarians" in the High Middle Ages , including the Visigoth kingdom.

Professor Rouche is the origin of the International Symposium of History held in 1996 in Reims to commemorate the baptism of Clovis. On this occasion, Pope John Paul II was able to meet and talk with historians, researchers, scientists gathered around the issue. The conference proceedings are published in two volumes and are already dated. Michel Rouche also participated in writing the movie and his time of Clovis Jacques Barsac.
