The origin of hieroglyphs Micmac is a subject of controversy. A publication of the Government of Quebec . Another source suggests that this form of writing existed before the arrival of French and is the original Micmac .

Father Pacifique (real name Henry Louis Joseph Bush) has left writings on and Micmac. In 1906, he published an almanac in the Micmac language, and later, a catechism. In 1921 he published a book with difficulty on hieroglyphs Micmac.
