Onchan is a village , a parish and a district of the Isle of Man. Even if it is, administratively, a village, it has the second most populated municipality of the island, after Douglas , with which it forms a conurbation. In the census of 2001 , its population was 8,803 inhabitants.

In Manx , the parish and the village have different names. They say Connaghyn ("St. Conchan") for the parish and Kione Droghad ("End of the Bridge") for the village.

Onchan (formerly called Conchan "because it was dedicated to St. Conchan) lies on a bay north of Douglas. The parish stretches from Cairns and Port Gerjoil Groudle to the town of Douglas, and the River Glass and Baldwin East Valley to the Irish Sea.
