Port Erin is located southeast of the Isle of Man, on the peninsula that leads to the Calf of Man. It is located inside a bay, called Port Erin Bay. The village lies at the foot of Bradda , a link of hills which runs into the sea at the top of Bradda stands a folly of the nineteenth century , the tower of Milner. To the south, another hill, the Mull Hill , is the boundary of the city. It is nestled between two peaks that grew the town of Port Erin. Along the promenade stretches a sandy beach, while the rest of the coast, north and south, consists of steep cliffs.

Port Erin is almost contiguous to the village of Port St Mary , situated on the other side of the peninsula overlooking the bay of Port St. Mary. Port Erin is accessed by the A36 road which serves the cities of the north and east of the island. Highway A5, she arrived at Port Erin Port St. Mary or from Castletown.

Relief and geology

Resort, the town also has a port that houses the department of marine biology at the University of Liverpool and the remains of a dam destroyed by a storm in 1884. The marine biology department was closed in 2005 for a funding issue and the future of the building has not yet been set.

Culture and Heritage

The city is famous for its views, including the beautiful sunsets over the bay of Port Erin or the tip of Bradda and frequent glimpses of the Mourne Mountains, on the Irish coast nearby.

The city also has a cultural center that hosts the biggest international competition of violating the world and over two hundred activities each year, a museum of railway , connected to the station at Port Erin, western terminus of the line that serves the island.
