post-alveolar fricative (palato-alveolar)

A post-alveolar consonant, or more briefly post-alveolar, means, articulatory phonetics , a consonant apical whose place of articulation is located at the junction between the alveoli of the jaw and upper palate hard and is carried with the tip of the tongue.

The French has the post-alveolar fricative (the original "shh!") and (the original of "juice").
