The village of St. John's ( Manx is a village in the parish from GermanMAESTRO , located on the way Douglas - Peel , in the interior of the Isle of Man. Tynwald Hill, the meeting place of parliament Manx, the Tynwald , is part of the ceremony of the promulgation of laws on the island, during which new laws are read to the crowd simultaneously in English and Manx all the July 5 , at the Tynwald Day , national holiday of the Isle of Man. This event attracts thousands of visitors who then participate in the fair of Tynwald.

The village church is dedicated to St. John , which the town derives its name. Inside the church, seats are reserved for nameplates, members of both houses of parliament Manx, while in an adjoining room stands a permanent exhibition on the history of Tynwald. The village is dominated by the Slieau Whallian , a hill south. Tynwald National Park, known as the Arboretum, located north of the village.

Opposite the church is the site of the former pound where stray animals are held until they are claimed. Otherwise, they became the property of Lord of Man after a year and a day. The tax payable was then divided equally between the lord and the pound. At the same place, stands a burial site consists of large slabs and dated 2300 BC. AD

Since 2003 , the buildings of the old school of St. John's are occupied by Bunscoill Gaelgagh (a Manx language primary school).
