The Swabian Jura (, in German. is a mountain range in south-western Germany.
Geography
The Swabian Jura extends from the depression Ries south-west. The Albtrauf its northwestern slope, separating the plateau of the Albvorland. The Swabian Jura is bounded on the south-east by the Danube and the Hegau. South-west, its border coincides with that of the Swabian dialects between Tuttlingen Spaichingen and, although it often includes areas beyond this limit. Thus, this chain extends 200 km from southwest to northeast, with a maximum width of 40 km in its central part. Small valleys, enlivened by vineyards and orchards, interspersed with small wooded terrain.
East of the Black Forest , between Stuttgart and Lake Constance , the high limestone plateau of the Swabian Alps peak at 1015 meters, at Lemberg.
From a geological perspective, the Swabian Jura is related to the cuesta West Germanic. It is a component of Tafeljura, between Basel and depression Ries, and which itself forms, with the Jura folds and the Franconian Jura , the Jura between Geneva and Cobourg.
