Tebessa

Tebessa (or Arab ) is a city and capital of the wilaya of the same name, located 16 km (as the crow flies) from the Tunisian-Algerian border, north of the mountains of Tebessa to eastern Aures region Berber Chaoui. Its altitude is 960 meters. Commercial and tourist center.

In antiquity, the Roman city of Theveste served as a garrison for the Third legion Auguste. With its field of aviation, this city was a place of important supplies for the Allies during the Battle of Kasserine.


Tebessa or Tbessa, city of Algeria, capital of the wilaya (administrative division) of Tebessa, north of Jebel Dokan. At 45 km from the Tunisian-Algerian border, rises to 960 m Tebessa.
