So around the first 7 weeks of my pregnancy I was exposed to someone who had been around someone with fifths disease. I didn't think anything of it but I still live with my family and my mother told me it was very serious. I contacted my doctor and had blood work done right away, but because it had to be sent away to be done I just got the results back today. So it turns out i'm not immune to this disease but it might not have been picked up because I did my tests so early on? I really don't believe I have it, and if I do my doctor said we would just need to monitor it closely. Should I be worried? My mother has even gone to the extremes to say I should get an abortion because my baby could have problems with it. I don't believe what she says but I still can't help but worry something seriously wrong could happen. Does anyone know if I should be seriously concerned? I'm almost 16 weeks now, so abortion isn't really an option because I live in Canada and plus I don't really believe in it.
