I had same problem with my desk top earlier today. Can you hit start? If you can go to accessories and restore back a week or so. Worked for me. I actually "BOUGHT" from the company which called them self "XL Internet Security 2012" It is fraudulent. I stopped payment with my credit card company and reported them as fraudulent. The sad thing is that they use so many different names and I, being intelligent, got suckered. They sent me an e-mail with misspellings and improper English, probably from China, as many of these companies are. By the way, I ran a scan which said I had no viruses and when I hit on their name they said would appear on my credit card co, I was blocked with VIRUS DETECTED! Hate these people who scam so many innocent people.

Go to a clean computer and download Malwarebytes and Dr.Web. Probably better to burn them to cd rather than putting them on a USB stick in case the malware infects it before you can run it. Dr Web will run itself in safe mode without the need for the user to do anything. Even with older definitions they should both clean it as it is an old scam.

If your problem is this serious, you should run bootable antivirus discs/USB drives to clean your computer. Download them and install it using another computer. These utilities might damage your data on your hard drive. You can also use a bootable linux operating system, then download and install the antivirus software and run with that.

Have you tried system restore? Do you have "Spybot"? That may clean it out. Otherwise, it's back to square one and re-install the whole thing.
