Western Language

The Western historical name former, which is officially called Interlingue, is a constructed language , published in 1922 by Edgar de Wahl when some people tried to admit the Esperanto in the League. Wahl saw a disaster because such a decision would be prevented by following the triumph of a better solution, which in his mind could only be hers. Language later evolved in the direction of increasing Latinization: so that the journal was Kosmoglott over time Cosmoglotta renamed. At the time of the Cold War , the West was renamed Interlingue in order not to upset the Soviets who held hostage in a sense the founder of the language and match virtually precluded. It is true that, to avoid confusion with the interlingua , followers often continue to talk about Interlingue (ex Occidental).

This language is intended to immediately understandable to all users of a European language, like the universal glottic the Novial or Interlingua following the same philosophy. The idiom neutral or mundolingue had the same claim.

Unlike the latter, the West allows himself a few words from non-Latin (German Hem; English it) and shorter forms (regularmen for Interlingua REGULARLY). He went back up the words in Esperanto, as a private for about, what Interlingua rejects absolutely. The grammar of the West is resolutely regular and therefore easy to apprendre.Elle Interlingua is with the artificial language that is more naturalistic. So it looks like a bit of a pidgin or a more sophisticated Creole.

Material civilization, science and even art unify more and more. The cultivated European feel at home in almost all countries that have a European civilization, that is to say in the world. Today almost all states make war with the same weapons. Constantly perfect means of intercommunication, in consequence of which the earth seems to become smaller. A Parisian today is more like an Englishman or a German as it was a hundred years ago a French peasant.

Rule of Wahl

Wahl rule is a rule of word formation creates certain grammatical forms from others (eg nouns from verbs ).

The infinitive of verbs Occidental usual for ending-ar or-er. The root is obtained as follows:

  1. If, after the removal of-r or-er from the infinitive, the root ends with a vowel, add-t should or should change to graduate in t:
  2. If the consonant graduate of the root is d or r, we should change it to s:
  3. In the remaining cases, with six exceptions, the removal from the end gives the required root: duct / er,-duct, duct ion.

The six exceptions are:

  1. ced / st, cess-
  2. sed / st, sess-
  3. mov / st, word-
  4. ten / er, tent-
  5. Green / er, to-
  6. veni / r, wind-

And verbs have trained them with prefixes.

Because the rule has three parts, it is often known as "three rules Wahl.

It creates nouns and adjectives by removing the ends and thus obtaining the root. After adding-r or-er, you get an infinitive in a majority of cases:

This rule has been applied in Western language. After a possible change we can apply this rule to create new forms of a word especially in the Romance languages or languages that have borrowed the vocabulary of the Romance languages.
