Wilamowicienne language (in the vernacular: Wymysiery; in Polish : is a Germanic language spoken in the small western town of Wilamowice near Bielsko-Biala , on the border between Silesia and Lesser Poland. It is likely that the drift wymysry High German of the twelfth century and has undergone the influence of Low Saxon , the Netherlands , the Frisian , the Polish and Scots.
Summary |
It is believed that the inhabitants of Wilamowice are descendants of Dutch settlers, German and Scottish settlers who arrived in Poland in the thirteenth century. The inhabitants of Wilamowice have always been opposed to their attachment to Germany and proclaimed their Dutch origins. The wymysry was the vernacular Wilamowice until 1945-1949. After the Second World War , the local Communist authorities have banned the use of language. Although the ban was lifted after 1956, wymysorys was gradually replaced by Polish, especially among younger generations. Currently, there are a hundred speakers, most of whom are elderly, the wymysorys is an endangered language.
The wymysorys was the language in which Biesik Florian wrote his poems in the nineteenth century.
